What’s on offer?

Cosy Computers refurbish and where possible upgrade computers and other ICT equipment for discounted sale to low income and budget conscious families, community groups, schools and charities.

Cosy also builds new computers to customer specification; supplies and installs interactive whiteboards and projectors to schools; installs server-based networks (both wire and wireless networks) and maintains and repairs them; supplies and installs CCTV equipment to protect investment.

Cosy collects redundant IT equipment from schools and businesses. Hard drives are wiped using REI approved systems and procedures.


Standards & quality control systems

Cosy Computers collects and recycles all old IT equipment under the standards set by the Regional Electronics Initiative (REI).

All equipment is recycled in accordance with current environmental regulations.

Cosy Computers is a Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher.

Profile

Cosy Computers is a not-for-profit enterprise. It was launched in 2002 by the then Secretary of State for education and Sheffield MP, David Blunkett.

Its aims are to:

*Close the IT gap between the ‘haves and have-nots’

*Provide new routes to training and employment for school leavers and adults.

Cosy has diverted over 30,000 computers from landfill by extending their useful lives.
