Dot-COMmunications is a not-for-profit, charitable community enterprise which provides employment, training and work experience for the long-term unemployed and people who had previously suffered from mental health problems.
Community benefit is also delivered by providing a source of low-cost refurbished IT equipment to local charities and individuals on low incomes.
What’s on offer?
DOT-COMmunications provides local authorities, NHS Trusts, businesses, organisations, schools and individuals with an affordable and comprehensive refurbishing and recycling service for their unwanted IT equipment. All work is carried out to the highest standard with certified data destruction in accordance with all necessary waste legislation and regulations including the EU WEEE Directive. All clients are able to track their donated equipment using our specialist audit trail.
DOT-COMmunications is a Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher (MAR) and operates to the highest data destruction standards using specialist BLANCCO software and eRazer hardware.
Approximately 80 per cent of refurbished items are re-sold at cost or donated to local charities or individuals on low incomes. Any materials which cannot be reused are recycled, with any hazardous components safely broken down in accordance with environmental legislation.
Newer equipment can be delivered for recycling or refurbishment free of charge; however a donation is required for older IT equipment.
DOT-COMmunications also provides IT support to not-for-profit organisations in Calderdale. Prices range from £99 for a two computer contract including on-site health check, two inclusive support visits and remote support. Discounted fixed prices for any additional visits and access to a courtesy computer if yours is being repaired, lost or stolen. Other tailored support packages, including both wired and wireless networking installation are available for networked systems and larger organisations. Pay as you Go support is also available.

DOT-COMmunications is a registered professional dealer, broker and collector of controlled waste.
The company is also registered with the Environment Agency in the Register of Exemptions from Waste Management Licensing in accordance with Environmental Protection Act 1990, Waste Management Licensing Regulations 1994 (as amended) & Controlled Waste Regulations 1991 under paragraphs 40 and 41.
DOT-COMmunications is an authorised Community Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher and a signatory to the UK CircuitRider Principles.
